Christian Character

How can you tell that we are a Church School?

St Patrick’s Church of England Primary Academy is a Church of England Primary Academy affiliated to the Birmingham Diocese. As a church school, St Patrick’s Church of England School aims to develop its religious character by taking into account the principles of the Church of England, and by promoting Christian values through the experience and opportunities we offer to all of our pupils. Strong Christian values are at the heart of our work and central to the ethos of the school’s teaching and learning, and are demonstrated through our Magnificent Seven values. One of the key aims of our school, is to help children learn that our Christian values are essential qualities.

Our School is linked to St Patrick’s Church (Church of England) which is situated at the side of our school. Once a week we have clergy led collective worship which is led by Revd Denise Jones or Curate Sian Evans. The school also worship there as a school community at Christmas, Harvest and Easter, and the children participate in key Christian events in school, presenting assemblies and other performances in school and church, to their families and the community.

Through sharing in collective worship, we feel that closeness and connection with God, which other many other schools may not experience, and with our CREW assisting and often leading collective worship, our faith continues to grow and develop, and our CREW provide a wonderful example of Christian faith to young children joining our school.

Being a Christian, and following our Magnificent Seven, is all about looking after others, and helping them, and everything we do and say shows this, and makes our journey as staff and pupils through the school an exciting and happy one.
