Christian Values for Living

Our Christian Values for Living

At St Patrick’s Church of England Primary Academy, we incorporate our Christian values and Magnificent Seven into all aspects of school life. We teach our children that the Christian values are important values that help us live a good Christian life, with strong morals and foundations for the future. They give true meaning to life, are a strong foundation for us to build on and grow in faith, and they influence the decisions we make, actions we take and our behaviour, and in turn impact on the life that we choose to lead. Our aim is to show our children that by living their lives with our Christian values and Magnificent Seven at their core, they will be strong, courageous and shining examples in faith.

 Our Christian values/Magnificent Seven are:

Enjoyment in all that we do and the sharing of experiences and growth within our school, and within our Christian faith.

Forgiveness of others, and recognising that if we really want to love, as God has loved us, and as God asks in one of his Ten Commandments, then we must learn how to forgive.

Honesty in all that we do, think and say, ensuring a happy and welcoming environment not only for our pupils and staff, but for all those who visit our school. We acknowledge that when we do good, we feel good, and when we do bad, we feel bad.

Through encouraging all of our people to work towards their Hopes and Dreams, and having the self-worth and self-belief that anything is possible if we trust in God, work together, and respect one another.

Showing Respect towards each other at all times, as by respecting ourselves, we are guiding our morals, and respecting others guides our manners.

Kindness is key to a happy and fulfilling school life, and our children demonstrate this in many different ways throughout their school journey. Our ethos is that ‘no act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted’.

Thankfulness in thought, prayer and deed; at St Patrick’s we teach our children that by giving thanks for a little, you will always find a lot. In prayer we always remember to thank God for his goodness, and for all that he has given us, and in return, we know we have his love, his strength and his guidance.

Being a Christian, and following our Magnificent Seven, is all about looking after others, and helping them, and everything we do and say shows this, and makes our journey as staff and pupils through the school an exciting and happy one.
