'It was wonderful to be back in St Patrick's Church this morning for collective worship which today was led by Revd Sian and Revd Dee Jones. Revd Sian asked the children about their Christmas, whether they had received gifts they were expecting, or whether their gifts were a surprise. She then talked about the 3 Kings, who visited baby Jesus in the manger, and were surprised at what they saw. The wise men came to Jerusalem asking the King of Judea, Herod, where is he that is born King of the Jews. the wise men claimed they had seen his star and had come to worship him. Herod was not at all pleased to hear this, so he sent the wise men to Bethlehem telling them to find the child then report back to him so he could then go and worship the child, where actually he wanted to go and kill the child. We heard that when they found the child the wise men immediately fell to their knees and worshipped him, and presented him with gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh. God then warned them not to return to Herod, so they returned to their own country. Following this the children reflected through the wonderful prayers of our church crew, and then joined together to sing the Lord's Prayer, followed by This Little Light of Mine. We then shared together birthdays of children within our school: Amari - year 1, Presley - year 2, Elliot and Harper - year 3, Alice - year 4, and Esmae in Year 6. It was so wonderful to hear the beautiful voices of our children singing together in church, and sharing further birthday celebrations.
