We believe that promoting diversity, equality and inclusion, including race, culture, socio-economic and sexual, helps create fairer, richer, and more supportive environments. It benefits everyone - service users, staff, and society, and therefore ensure that we adopt these principles in our daily practice.

  Recognizing and celebrating the richness and variety of cultures, religions, and backgrounds represented within the school community.  

• Challenging Discrimination:

  Actively promoting attitudes and values that challenge discriminatory behaviour and promote respect for all.  

• Developing Understanding:

  Fostering pupils' understanding and appreciation of different faiths and cultures, including Christianity as a global faith.  

Specific Actions:

• Curriculum Integration:

  Ensuring that diversity and inclusion are embedded throughout the curriculum, not just in specific lessons or subjects.  

• Sensitive Teaching Strategies:

  Using a range of teaching strategies to address sensitive topics related to diversity and inclusion, ensuring all pupils feel comfortable and respected.  

• Resource Selection:

  Choosing resources (books, materials, etc.) that reflect a range of cultural backgrounds and avoid stereotypes.  

• Parental Involvement:

  Actively involving parents and carers in supporting their child's education and celebrating their cultural backgrounds.  

• Promoting Advocacy:

  Developing pupils' advocacy skills so they can challenge bias and discrimination and promote justice and equality.  

• Celebrating Religious Diversity:

  Exploring Christianity as a multi-cultural world faith and ensuring pupils learn about other worldviews and beliefs.  

• Addressing Socio-economic Factors:

  Recognizing that socio-economic background can impact a pupil's engagement with school and ensuring appropriate support is provided.  

• Community Engagement:

  Connecting with the wider community to foster understanding and appreciation of diversity.
