Waste week commenced on Monday 4th March. This year the campaign focused on plastic pollution.
The children work extremely hard to reduce their plastic waste in school, staff are also recycling responsibly and the PTA are supporting our Eco team by reducing the use of plastic items at events.
There were three types of recycling that the children brought into school.
1. Any empty crisp packets excluding popcorn.
2. Empty biscuit, cracker and cake wrappers.
3. Empty biros, pens, highlighters
The children currently collect these on a daily basis and we have sent three kilogrammes of crisp packets since we started. If you would like to collect them at home too, please feel free to bring them in for us to dispatch to Terracycle (a company that breaks these items down and reuses them to make furniture etc.).
