Eco School Green Flag
We have achieved the Eco-Schools' Green Flag! This is absolutely fantastic and something we are all incredibly proud of in school. Particular thanks to our Eco-Team and Mrs Fisher, School Council, Energy Monitors, Litter Pickers, Classroom Checkers and every member of our community for taking this so seriously and wanting to make a difference
Greener Solihull Schools Award Levels 1 - 3
We have achieved the Level 3 Greener Solihull’s Schools Award (the highest level). Our Eco-team and Mrs Fisher have driven this with gusto, determination, focus and commitment.
The comments, from Sarah Lardner, Solihull Sustainability Engagement Officer, regarding ourapplication included the following
‘I am very impressed with your application, it’s great that pupils are enthusiastic to become Ecoteam members. The noticeboard is fantastic with lots of detail, showing all your achievements and it’s a good idea to get the pupils to design posters for activities. I like that you have used The POD teaching resources to help run your campaigns. You show a whole-school approach and it’s good to see the involvement of the Head Teacher and Business Manager in making energy and waste savings. I love the idea of banning cling film and trying to cut out plastic straws, it’s wonderful that the children are suggesting changes that can help the environment.'
We have achieved Level 5 where we had to evidence the following:-
We can talk enthusiastically about our garden and inform others of the plants we have growing and any projects or activities we have done
We share our garden with others in our local community through open days, sales and events
We can pass on our gardening skills to others in the school or group
We have or will offer our gardening skills to the local community to help with projects or gardening needs
We use the garden as much as we can, our garden has a future
